I say these are my favourite of all times BUT…. Of course there’s SO many Ted Talks I haven’t yet discovered! And new ones ALL the time. Truly though, what a gift Ted Talks are that they are freely available to anyone with an internet connection and the attention span to watch them!
So help me fuel my Ted Talk addiction friends – what are your favourite Ted Talks of all time? Share in the comments!
Here we are (in no particular order)...
1. The Power of Being Real - Aliza Licht
This hits the list because Aliza is one of my favourite social media personalities to follow and she wrote the fabulous career/mentorship book – Leave Your Mark. Some great social media and branding advice.
2. The Power of Vulnerability – Brene Brown
I watch this again every year as a reminder of how to be a better person. Enough said. Watch it.
3. Perspective is Everything - Rory Sutherland
From a marketing perspective I can’t go past all of Rory Sutherland’s work. He shares some fantastic insights on one of my favourite topics – behavioural economics and how psychology (and perception) shapes our lives.
4. The Happy Secret to better work - Shawn Achor
I’ve mentioned this one elsewhere in this blog, this Ted Talk is my go-to icebreaker and I just LOVE being able to introduce it into a workplace where people haven’t seen it before. Favourite part is ‘Amy the Unicorn!’
5. Your Body Language May Shape Who You Are - Amy Cuddy
This Ted Talk changed the way I position and present myself at work and particularly when presenting to crowds. It also sparked my fascination with non-verbal communication cues and how we can influence people (and ourselves) subconsciously (for example building rapport, mirroring, open body language). Check out her Ted Talk and start your own fascination!
6. I got 99 problems… palsy is just one - Maysoon Zayid
Often hilarious and always inspiring, I love this video for a feel good lift. For me it’s all about the power of being different!
